Diasporization
In the mobility paradigm, the modern 'diasporization' is a concept that accelerates the change of a dynamic society with globalization. In relation to residential culture, social structure, work and life, space is required to have more active mobility and functional diversity. Carrier is with foreign migrant on their journey. Carrier is the element of their lives on the move. Therefore, the carrier is a mobility element that can be transformed into furniture functions and architectural elements. I propose the "Furnitural Architecture" that crosses the boundaries of furniture and architecture by interacting with the people and surroundings.

Immigrants to Korea
The development of transportation has allowed people to travel longer distance at the same time. As a result, a national move-ment called “Diasporization” occurred. Currently, the largest number of foreign migrants reside in the United States. In Korea from 1980 to the present, Korean-Chinese have migrated to Korea.

The difference in economic income between Korea and China is the reason why Korean-Chinese people with the “Korean dream” come to Korea. In 2019, the minimum wage in Korea (1.8 million won) is more than four times the minimum wage in China (420,000 won). Therefore, their reason for moving is sufficient. Most Korean-Chinese men who came to Korea are engaged in other simple labor jobs. And in the case of women, the majority of restaurant workers are service workers, followed by other simple labor jobs.
And in order to work, visas are very important to them. A visa is a social status that represents them, and the visa may vary depending on what they want to do.

Garibong-dong and Hive house

Garibong-dong, where are many short-term rental houses called ‘Hive house’, is the first area for the Korean-Chinese to move to Korea. Some have a short contract period of two months, so it’s the best option for those who stay short and don’t have initial capital. The Hive house was built by residents to accommodate workers working at the Guro Industrial Complex in the past. Since the establishment of the multi-family housing system in 1984, the number of hive houses has increased exponentially. It provides a low-cost residential environment for Korean-Chinese.

전단지
Leaflet
Hand-Written leaflets that are not recorded on a computer are invisible network that can only be found by hanging directly in Garibong-dong. It is the element that holds the information, and you can see what the region needs.

Monthly rent leaflet
The Korean-Chinese contract the room directly with the landlord, not with real estate. This is because the Korean-Chinese can save money and even those with a simple tourist visa(C-38) can sign contract. Monthly rent leaflet brings Korean-Chinese to Garibong-dong. The street where leaflets are mainly found is daily living space in Garibong-dong, where residents move a lot. Typical urban and architectural elements make it difficult to describe this street.
Job offer leaflet
The Korean-Chinese can't easily find jobs elsewhere or on the internet, so they have to look for job offer leaflet in Garibong-dong, In particular, simple tourist visa(C-38) that are legally unable to engage in economic activities can also be employed. It spreads the Korean-Chinese in again by job information. AndIt is found on public transportation points and commercial streets in Garibong-dong.
Carrier to enable movement
The carrier is always with the movement of the Korean-Chinese. Carrier stores clothes at home, uses as toolboxes to get to work, and also as chairs when they spend some time on the road. For the Korean-Chinese, a carrier is a device that enables physical movement. It is the image of the Korean-Chinese that changes according to need.

Design tool "Carrier"
To use the carrier as a design tool, I played with the carrier. A total of 8 actions are possible (Up, Expand, Pivot, Fold, Lean, Lean/Up, Slide, Wheel).
The carrier consists of a total of 9 main parts, such as buttons, handles, length adjustment, locks, frames, wheels, covers, zippers, and seams. In particular, the carrier constitutes a mechanism that unfolds and holds objects and slides the compressed frame. So I want to use the mechanism of Folding and Sliding as a design tool.

Scissors mechanism
1. Mobile Bridge / Hiroshima University
Ball screw scissors lift
2. Scissor Lift

Scissors frame
