Introduction of Structure_ Sun-young Choi
This course teaches the basic necessary knowledge to physically form buildings. Students learn how to understand the relationship between structural principles and load and form, and make it possible to utilize structure and design interactions in architectural design.
Structure Design _ Sun-woo Park
class selects actual sites according to the established themes to improve understanding of the theme interpretation, site survey, general items architectural and structural plans, and expression methods and to produce the best results for the optimized mutual relations between the structures and designs, and aims to produce maximum synergy effects through mutual fusion. The structural design class, which is a unique and special feature of the Department of Architecture of this school and cannot be found in other universities promotes the selected project on design methods using the structural knowledge obtained from the first to the third year.
Structure System_ Sun-woo Park
This class aims to perform actual planning and applications by using the concept and structural aesthetics of structural systems that are needed for architectural planning and practices, and by using the structural knowledge needed by structural engineers. That is to say that the class focuses on establishing mutually complementary relations between architectural planning and design and architectural structures, by planning an optimal structural system appropriate to the concepts of basic structural mechanics and the characteristics of materials studied during the bachelor course, and by creating building structures that minimize material use and are friendly to human beings and their environment.
Technical Studio 1_ Sun-woo Park
Architectural design is to create architecture with a specific condition of the site and the requested program. Kenneth Frampton describes three elements that affect building mentally and physically: the topos, typos and tectonic. Although it can’t be divided into those elements clearly, Technical studio is for understanding the building with focusing on the physical elements. In this class, we find the right structures for building coming from abstract ideas, and finally apply the system to the building
